遠くに山間が広がる住宅地で美容室兼アイラッシュサロンの新築を行った。
「マテリアル」という店名から建築素材をどのように使ってデザインするか、またウッドショックの影響を受けたことと工期の短さが今回の課題となった。建物はできるだけシンプルにだが特徴のある丁寧なつくりを目指し、基礎は床を兼ねて造り、屋根は天井を兼ねて仕上げられるよう組み方を工夫した。外観の形状も相まって軽く柔らかい印象の建物になった。
A newly built hair salon and eyelash studio set within a residential area overlooking distant mountains. The project was guided by the salon’s name, ”Material”, prompting an exploration of how architectural materials themselves could shape the design. At the same time, the impact of the timber shortage and the need for a short construction period became key considerations.
The building was conceived as a simple yet carefully crafted form with a distinctive character. The foundation was designed to also function as the finished floor, while the roof structure was devised so that it could serve directly as the interior ceiling. Through these integrated construction methods and the softly curved form of the exterior, the building achieves a light and gentle architectural expression.
