「TIME, SPACE, EXISTANCE」は2021年5月22日から11月21までの6か月間、ベネチアで開催される展示会である。建築のオリンピックと呼ばれるベネチアビエンナーレと同時開催され世界中から建築家やデザイナーが訪れる。様々な分野で働く参加者が一堂に集まり、生活をつくるという重要な役割を担う中で建築家間の交流を刺激することを目的としている。
BAUMは地方で木材を軸に扱う者として、都会とは違う価値がある地方ならではの木造住宅の持続可能性、自然環境との関係に焦点を当て展示を行った。また、伝統産業の制作・販売を行う企業とその世界に誇る技術をどのようにアピールしていくかという課題について、建築の視点からその関わり方や可能性を考察する。
模型以外の展示物はすべて越前和紙を使い凹凸で図面や文字を表し白一色とした。まっさらなキャンバスはあらゆる条件を加えられ徐々に特徴や色が生み出されていく事を表現。遠くから眺めたり近づいて見たりすることで、固定概念に囚われないものの見え方が生まれてくるだろう。
BAUM, architectural design practice based in Fukui, Japan, has been selected to join the fifth edition of the extensive biennal architecture exhibition in Venice, Italy.
The exhibition TIME, SPACE, EXISTANCE opened in parallel with Biennale Architettura on May 22nd, 2021 and it will run for six months until November 21th, 2021 at Palazzo Bembo, Palazzo Mora and Giardini della Marinaressa.
TIME SPACE EXISTENCE features completed and ongoing projects, innovative proposals, and utopian dreams of architectural expressions. Through a wide selection of projects ranging from conceptual works, models, photographs, videos, sculptures, to site specific installations, each room will provide visitors information and inspiration on our surroundings.
By bringing together a diverse group of participants working across disciplines, the European Cultural Centre aims at stimulating an exchange among architects that can have a crucial role in shaping the future of our living.
In this installation, through the use of the prestigious Washi paper 和紙, the studio BAUM aims to connect visitors with the minimalistic aesthetic and the spirit of Japan, adopting an invisible white craft layer.
Moreover,Daisuke Kishina's language refers to the necessity to see from very close to be able to distinguish invisible details. The studio challanges visitors by choosing a complete white aesthetic while seeking to convey an multisensorial experience between the architecture and the space.
